Description

Bertoloni columbine is an herbaceous perennial which is native to the French Prealps as well as the French and Italian Alps. The flower, of a homogeneous and bright blue colour, can be differentiated from other columbines thanks to its long petals and its bright yellow stamens. The back part of the petals forms spurs, which are more curved than other species of columbine. It prefers living on shady banks, but it can also be found it areas which are exposed to direct sunlight. With any luck, you will find some alongside GR5 as it heads up to Col d'Annelle!
