The terrain here forced men to work with one leg shorter than the other, families split up in the summer, some went to the mountain pastures, others stayed down to mow the meadows by hand, mechanisation coming much later.
Perhaps this is what gave rise to the legend of the dahu! You know that animal that we go hunting for, that strange beast that we recognize from afar because it has one leg shorter than the other, probably a genetic adaptation to the profile of the slope!
