Hôtel Le Splendid

Description

Built on the ruins of a fortified castle, this architectural masterpiece from the 1920s was designed by the architect André Granet who also designed the Atrium.
This jewel of art deco and emblematic place of the Roaring Twenties, symbol of the cultural and artistic bubbling of the town of Dax, opened its doors to the most famous people of this frenetic and creative period: Ernest Hemingway, Joseph Kessel, Sacha Guitry..
Its bold architecture, in the shape of a flagship facing the banks of the Adour river, was inspired by the mythical liner Normandie.
Dare to push the door open and discover its large hall and its wide luminous staircase, characteristic of this decorative movement.
