The church of Notre Dame, in Genouillé in the south of the Vienne, is said to have been founded by Charlemagne. The present building has been built during several periods: 12th century, 18th century and 19th century.
With its façade and its listed interior furnishings, this church is typical of the small rural churches of Poitou. Its facade has kept its primitive decoration with 3 archivolts with religious decoration, plants and dragons, griffins and lions
The interior was restored in 2010 with sculptures and the exterior in 2015.
