At 2 kms from Eaux-Bonnes, at the foot of the Montagne Verte, the village of Aas awaits you for its heritage discovery.
The typical architecture of this village of former shepherds deserves that you stop on the many technical details such as the construction of walls and foundations, the richness of ornaments around the doors, the troughs, the roofs, the materials.... And many other specificities!
Inevitably, you will stop in front of the bronze plaque affixed to the church referring to the famous whistlers of Aas. This tradition, unique in Europe at the time, was born in the Gourette cirque where the shepherds used this atypical means of communication to communicate with each other!
