On this plot of land adjacent to the Corrèze rest area (A 89 towards Clermont-Ferrand, exit "Aire de Corrèze"), in the commune of Vitrac-sur-Montane, a double-barrelled Lorraine cross overlooks the hill, at the foot of which has been erected the Corrézien Memorial to the Resistance, Deportation and Martyrs. The memorial pays tribute to the men and women, Resistance fighters or not, who fought, suffered or died on Correze soil or in deportation for the liberation of France, all victims of Nazi barbarism.
