Charles Portal Museum

Charles Portal Museum

Description

In a medieval building, classified as a historical monument, come and discover the history of Cordes-sur-Ciel, from prehistory to modern day, its surroundings, as well as the issues and specific features behind its creation in 1222.
Managed by the association "Société des Amis du Vieux Cordes" (1904), the "Musée de France Charles Portal" is a museum of art, history and heritage in the "Pays Cordais". With a wealth of unique exhibits (to date), it explains medieval defensive architecture and its history from prehistory to the present day. The videos on display (Water in Cordes, The Well, the Ferrat Book, "The Embroiderer's Son", The Fate of the Apostles, etc.), the three-storey exhibition rooms, and the view from the terrace are all milestones in the history and legends of Cordoa.
