Eglise Saint Hilaire de Poitiers de Mortemart

Saint Hilaire de Poitiers de Mortemart is the former chapel of the Augustinian convent, now a parish church dating from the 14th century.
It contains a number of remarkable curiosities, including magnificent 15th-century oak stalls with carved "miséricordes" representing animals, demons and vices beneath the seats. Triangular medallions at the top of the backrests depict trades. The church also features a 19th-century canvas painting of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, which adorns the monumental altarpiece and its 17th-century gilded wooden altarpiece. There is also a remarkable 17th-century gilded wooden lectern. Two 15th-century panel paintings, the Resurrection of Christ and the Assumption of the Virgin, crown the building.
