Welcome to the picturesque Butchery quarters! This house is one of the 52 butchery houses built in the early 13th century. Nowadays it is an eco-museum about the daily lives of Limoges's butchers' families. They would slaughter the animals, sell and cook their meats on the ground floor of these houses, live upstairs and dry hundreds of sheep and pig skins up in their attics. The butchers made this neighbourhood their very own.
Open in July, August and September from 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 7pm. Free entrance. Guided tours available : check rates and book with the Limoges Tourist Information Office: 05 55 34 46 87.
