Château de Noailles

Description

The château, located in the commune of Noailles south of Brive, is linked to the history of the famous Dukes of Noailles. Built in the Renaissance style in the 14th century, it was burnt down in 1789 and restored in the 19th century by Alexis de Noailles.

Set in parkland, it comprises a central body flanked by two rectangular machicolated towers: the Lignérac and Noailles towers.

The facade features pinnacled windows, decorated with medallion-shaped angels bearing the Noailles coat of arms, "gules à bande d'or".
