Chaudes-Aigues, or one of the cradles of geothermal. Hot water has been heating homes and feeding thermal baths since the fourteenth century. The Geothermia Museum naturally found its place here to explain what this renewable energy is.
Geothermia is unique in France because it is in Chaudes-Aigues and nowhere else that the warmest waters of Europe (82°C) naturally spring up.
From the ancestral use of the waters by the inhabitants, the visitor is invited to an initiatory journey to the discovery of the geothermia, an energy that man knew how to use long before coal, oil or nuclear.
On 3 levels, Geothermia reveals the mystery of hot springs, tells the story of the thermal waters and their benefits, the Roman thermal baths, geothermal thermal to Italian. He even invites you aboard the nautilus to evoke the seabed...
