The Saint Louis Tower

Description

This quadrangular tower 15m high and 9.65m wide was built with white limestone from the Beaucaire or Fontvieille quarries, which arrived by boat. The Tower is built on two levels, surmounted by a fortified terrace with a crenellated parapet. Built in 1737 on the banks of the Rhône, its visit allows you to appreciate the largest ornithological collection in the Camargue, temporary exhibitions and a breathtaking 360 ° view of the mouth of the Rhône, the Saint Louis canal, the City and the salt marshes. (Telescopes available)
