On this site which has been frequented by the military since 1885, during the summers of 1931 and 1932, the alpine hunters built the only construction of the Alpine Maginot Line, which would be the heart of the National Park. This blockhouse is essentially an observation post for the enemies who never came: the fascist Italians. During the Phony war (September 1939 - June 1940), about thirty requisitioned Pralognanese occupied this site, under the orders of a lieutenant of the 7th battalion of alpine hunters of Bourg-Saint-Maurice.
