Church of Sacré Cœur de Bonnecousse

This church is registered as Historical Monuments.
"If Mazamet is saved from the barbarism of the Nazis, it will be built a church dedicated to the Sacred Heart".


This hope was expressed on 9 June 1945, on the feast of the Sacred Heart, during the German occupation.


The church is designed in 1959 by the architect Joseph Belmont and the engineers Jean Prouvé and Serge Ketoff.


Protected by the architect during his life, this church combines tradition and elegance.
