Pont de Branne

Pont_de_Branne_-_Emmanuel_GAYE_OTCP_2021 (1)

Description

In the Middle Ages (from the 12th century), Branne already had a wooden bridge, used to cross the Dordogne. At that time, a paying right of way was in force (abolished in 1890). A new bridge, made of metal, was built in 1911. The Germans blew it up in 1944. Following this episode, a restoration of the bridge is decided.
