Description
En 1714 la forêt s'appelait Coetmec. « Coat » signifie bois. « An Hay » viendrait de « An Neh » qui signifie la hauteur, la colline. C’est une analogie phonétique entre le breton et le français. Une explication plus moderne voudrait que Coat-an-Noz signifie bois de la nuit et Coat-an-Hay, bois du jour.
