That's the age of this Yew tree, said to have been planted when the abbey was founded in the 6th century... This makes it the oldest tree in Limousin.
With its short, wide trunk and spreading branches, the Vigeois Yew offers a small "inner garden" in the hollow of its branches, where you can observe young green shoots, red bark and the little creatures that make the most of this calm, serene environment...
