Arènes Jean Chicoy

The 1947 Coudures bullring is of the traditional Landes race type: rectangular in concrete. The boxes, on one of the small sides, are surmounted by bleachers. The rest of the bleachers surround the arena. The talenquères, the shelters of the coursayres in the arena, are white with a red circle. They bear the name of a courageous and famous sparer of the village: Bernard Lalanne nicknamed Chicoy, because he was very small. He had the audacity to face a dangerous cow in the arena with his daughter on one arm!
