This fully preserved convent was built in 1280 by the Dominicans, known as Jacobins. The church with its flat chevet and broken barrel roof, as well as the eastern wing of the convent, are Gothic. The cloister and the south and west wings were largely destroyed in 1569-70 by the Huguenots and were rebuilt in 1686. The monks were driven out by the French Revolution. Today it is used for many events. Only the cloister is freely accessible during the day except for certain events.
It contains the museum of art and history of the Cap de Gascogne, open on summer afternoons.
