The site on which the church stands has revealed a Merovingian necropolis (discovered in the 1980s along its walls).
A pre-Romanesque building preceded the Romanesque church, as evidenced by the remains on the north side of the nave
This same nave, known as "panelled", has the beginnings of ribbed vaults (dated to the end of the Gothic period).
The building also has a vaulted apse called "cul-de-four".
On the façade of the church (which, like the chevet, dates from the 12th century) and its magnificent Romanesque portal, the sculpted tympanum represents Adam and Eve near the Tree of Knowledge. We can also see the apostles James, Paul and Peter as well as two pilgrims from Santiago de Compostela.
Another portal, also remarkable, is located on the south side of the church, in the flamboyant Gothic style (end of 15th and beginning of 16th century).
