At the end of the 12th century, the church of Saint-Martin became the property of the abbey of La Sauve-Majeure (and this until the middle of the 18th century).
The building is, at the base, of Romanesque style (it remains of this time the portal and the facade).
This Romanesque portal has the most remarkable elements of the church: in particular its archivolts and its capitals (where we see representations of human and divine characters or animals, fish and plants).
The four bays of the church are covered by ribbed vaults, which end in a straight chevet (all dating from the 16th century).
The shape of the church is that of a Latin cross. This was made possible by the addition, in the 17th century, of two chapels on the north and south sides.
