Description
From this spot there are views of the land of the smugglers, Abondance Valley, and the Aulps Valley and Montriond Lake. The shaping of these two valleys following the last two great glaciations and the birth of Montiond Lake is revealed here.
The Col de Bassachaux is one of the emblematic geosites of the Chablais UNESCO World Geopark. Reading tables guide your gaze and allow you to decipher the landscapes before your eyes: on one side the Mont de Grange and its mountain pastures, on the other the Lac de Montriond and its glacial valley.
