Made between 1692 and 1714, this altarpiece is the work of Jean Tournié, master sculptor from Gourdon, in the Lot. It was restored piece by piece by the master Karoutsos in 1988. A work that lasted 3 years. Like most 17th century altarpieces, it follows a composition scheme due to 16th century Italian architecture: structure in three parts with 2 floors, surmounted by a crown forming part of a triangle, the wings side being bordered by twisted columns adorned with vines. Saint Martial is represented there alongside other characters such as Saint-Jean-Baptiste or Saint-Pierre. To the left of the middle part is also represented a famous biblical scene: Saint-George slaying the dragon.
