Description

Javerdat is located south of the Monts de Blond, 10 minutes from Saint-Junien and close to Oradour-sur-Glane. The first written mention of Javerdat dates back to 1316. In addition to the megaliths that can be seen along the way, such as the Rouffignac dolmen and the Herses menhir, the town's 12th-century church hides some real treasures, including 15th-century altarpieces, the reliquary busts of Saint Jean and Saint Blaise, a superb Stations of the Cross and the phallic-shaped cippe.
While breathing in the fresh country air, you can enjoy wonderful walks or mountain bike rides on the signposted trails, and follow the "tree and bee" interpretation trail to the apiary (map available from the town hall).
