Le Puy des Roches

Les Roches are located on the heights of Villemonteix. Legend has it that the rocks were brought here by the Virgin Mary in her apron, and traces of her footsteps and the cradle of the infant Jesus are visible. The place is notorious for its illicit traffic. For a long time, these rocks were the lair of a she-wolf who claimed many victims in the area. It is also said that a white horse hides here and only comes out at night to quench its thirst and enjoy the tender grass that grows around it.
