The old part of the village sits atop the left bank of the Vienne river with the church at its centre and a little square dedicated to Frédéric Mistral, a French writer of the 19th century. The austere exterior of St Saturnin church is in complete contrast to the beauty of its internal architecture. The south chapel is a good example of Limousin gothic art and it contains some remarkable 15th century frescoes. It has exceptional acoustics, making it an excellent venue for concerts, and many recordings are made here for national use. Enjoy a walk along the waymarked footpath ‘le chemin du héron’, stop at the restaurant ‘Le Village’ next to the lake or you could even go bowling.
