Medieval underground caves of the peasant type being archaeologically excavated, the troglodytes of La Tourette were used between the IXth and the XVIIth century, mainly for storage in the different rooms as well as in silos first on the surface and then in the underground network. Rich of a score of rooms connected by a network of galleries extended on more than 180 meters length, with various structures: silos, benches, feeder, carries, of a rebate for sliding door, as well as of an underground pigeon-house containing nearly 500 boulins.
