A privately-owned historic monument considered a small treasure of the Loire Valley and Poitou. Furnished and inhabited.
The Chevalier de Beauvau amassed a considerable fortune through his military exploits, his career as a diplomat and as a creditor at the court of the Dukes of Anjou and the Kings of France. In 1439, work began on the construction of his new château: a hexagonal keep of remarkable proportions, a chapel considered a marvel of flamboyant Gothic art, and the inner courtyard with 2 superimposed galleries bearing witness to delicacy and refinement.
At the end of the tour, take part in a riddle game to find out the identity of a knight. Discover the art of heraldry. This new activity has been recognized as a "Coup de c?ur" by the Agence de créativité et d'attractivité du Poitou (ACAP) in 2021.
