The elders of the village enjoyed meeting at this cordial site to discuss the local gossip. If you move several metres towards the valley, you can enjoy a superb view of the pretty landscape. At the bottom of the valley flows the Cossart stream, which passes through a fine piece of woodland characterised by its tall hedges that provide refuge and food for the many birds. The view is blocked by the Mariomont and Louveterrie deciduous woods. The latter is where the springs of the Cossart stream and its tributary the Grands Près stream can be found.Overlooking the valley from the opposite ridge, to the left, it is possible to make out the former Château Zurstrassen manor, also known as Château de Halleur. This manor was for a long time the property of the Zurstrassen family, the benefactors in the 1950s of the Saint Nicolas school in Stembert. It is difficult to see from the road, due to the thick vegetation which prevents the eye from noticing that it is surrounded by vast grounds.
