Opposite the square, lies the former town hall, commenced in 1864 and completed in 1865, as indicated by the inscription in French on the typanum "Maison communale 1865". The work was awarded for the sum of 16,975 francs on the condition of using only bricks made in the town and sold at 8 francs per thousand. The town hall was the meeting hall, secretary's office, school, teacher's residence, library, savings bank and post office. Since 1945 it has only continued to take on the role of school. After this point in time, the former property of the Houben family, on Rue de Verviers, named "Mont Clotilde" played host to the municipal services; today it is the head office of Radiolène as well as a reception venue for municipal events.
