After the fountain of the Madonna, the main street narrows and runs down to the large lime tree at the bastion of the lower gate.Picturesque constructions adorn the surroundings of this small unevenly cobbled street. The large lime tree was planted in 1713 and has witnessed many historical events. From this point, it is possible to gaze upon the grounds of the Favart (formerly Potter) property and imagine that you are in a feudal castle.Below this esplanade lies the entrance to a former bunker. The "white steps" lead down to this "prison", but caution must be exercised in light of their steepness.
