Description

The high outer wall of the garden near to the church incorporates an old door. This was the site of the provost's house. On the rounded lintel, the inscription "DOMINUS - PROVIDEBIT" frames the coat of arms of the Amezaga family. Mathias, who was of Spanish origin, born in Aachen in 1615 and died in 1666, was the provost of Limbourg in 1652.On the northern gable of the house at No. 15 on Place Saint-Georges square, there is an old tombstone with an inscription in Dutch. It is the tombstone of Anne de Hack, the daughter of Antoine, a former mayor of Limbourg. She married Willem van Gallen, commissioner of supplies and munitions who worked for the general estates. She died in Limbourg in 1635. Nearby, there is an old blocked up well.
