The arboretum in Mefferscheid was created in 1901 by the forestry commission to test the growth of different tree species on the woodland floor of the Hertogenwald. This 5-hectare plantation especially includes softwood species from North America, Asia and Europe. Marked by round pieces of wood, a 870-metre long trail allows you to discover many hundred year old trees and superb sculptures of unique character crafted by local artists. Car parking spaces are available opposite the entrance to the arboretum.
