This promenade runs along the northern bank of the River Vesdre. It owes its name to the fact that the Récollets Friars recited their prayers here. The plant life is exotic and this is due to the wool-making past of the town. The plants originate from Australia, South Africa or Argentina and their seeds arrived in Verviers attached to the wool. They were shaken free by carding and washing (e.g.: Himalayan balsam, South African Ragwort, etc.).
