This fountain in bronze and blue stone is the work of Marianne Doucet, a sculptor and writer who also designed the Grace fountain. With this work, erected in 2010, the artist wanted to pay homage to Editions Marabout, which was a publishing house that was a flagship of cultural activity in Verviers. The Marabou, which was this firm's emblem, stands alongside a "Demoiselle Curieuse" (a curious young lady), depicting the feminine collection of the same name. This 8-metre long edifice is adorned at the centre by a luminous fountain with three coloured jets of water, symbolising the fount of knowledge that books represent. This fountain is located at the same place as the former buildings of Editions Marabout.
