Jacqueline Pelon developed a passion for the watercolour technique in 1983, after having practised a number of artistic techniques, including oil painting and modelling. She trained as a drawing teacher at the Beaux Arts in Rennes in the early 1970s, and taught watercolour for many years.



Her painting is essentially figurative, but as she continues her quest to make the most of the specific features of watercolour and to create effects of transparency and lightness, while at the same time using highly pigmented colours, she also works on non-figurative subjects where shapes and colours are enriched. Her favourite subjects are flowers and still lifes, landscapes, particularly marshes, to exploit the reflections on the water, sailing boats in regattas and trawlers in port, scenes of life (streets, markets, beaches, etc.), nudes and portraits...
