Dam of the King

This dam was built between 1971 and 1975 in order to transport the machinery of the Royal Mint of Xuvia. The natural area where this unique site is located was declared Special Area of Conservation (SAC), which protects the Xuvia river and its tributary Castro. It preserves a great part of the traditional riverside woods that turn it into a unique natural environment.
