Description

Les bancs installés sur l’esplanade près du bâtiment du Royal Sport nautique de la Meuse sont en pierre calcaire dite « Petit Granit », composé de fragments de crinoïdes et de coquillages. Dans certains blocs, il est possible de trouver des coquilles du brachiopode Leptagonia, en forme de trapèze.

Age : Tournaisien supérieur, période carbonifère (350 millions d’années).

Origine : Le « Petit Granit de l’Ourthe » a été abondamment exploité dans la vallée de l’Ourthe et dans le Condroz.
