Discovery of 3 major periods:
- The Gallo-Roman period (suburb of the Old Market, fountain of Rentière, the Themes): the hot springs of water, already known by the Celts, encourages the Roman legions to build magnificent baths, thus develops an important city.
- The medieval period (church, door of the Farges, district of the Town Hall): period influenced by the hermit Saint-Marien during which the Provost of the Canons imposes its authority and culture, a strategic place of passage, the city becomes capital of the Combraille
- The period related to the hydrotherapy: since 1831, Evaux knows a real economic revival accentuated by the railroad in 1885 and the organization of cures.
