Pont Roman

Description

This 12th century bridge, built on stilts, was listed as a historical monument in 1889. It was withdrawn from circulation in 1961 after the construction of the new bridge
Narrow, thick, almost horizontal, its deck rests on eight
small round arches. Its spurs, sharp and protruding,
reaching the height of the parapet have allowed the development of
pedestrian shelters.
The roadway was dug with two grooves used to guide
carts so that they do not bump along the sides of the carts
parapets. They were removed during the restoration of the bridge.
