When you leave Rome, your tour will first take you to the Villa d'Este. Constructed in the 16th century, the Villa d'Este is a major reference in Italian Renaissance architecture. With its status as a world heritage site, the Villa d'Este and its marvellous gardens (home to the famous "Hundred Fountains") is a truly captivating site.
After your visit to the Villa d'Este and a lunch break, your tour will continue towards the Villa Adriana.
The Villa Adriana, or Hadrian's Villa, is an imperial residence constructed by Emperor Hadrian in the 2nd century. Forgotten for centuries, the ruins of this site spread across over 120 hectares are now recognized as for their precious historical value.
Among the remaining structures, you can visit the maritime theatre, the Canopus and its caryatids, see the statues of ancients gods or even the roman baths and the imperial palace.
