La Cave aux fées dolmen

Known as one of the oldest constructions in Haute-Savoie, this dolmen situated at the foot of the Voirons massif dates back to neolithic times. A journey into our region’s history.
The dolmen consists of an enormous slab of arkose split in two, resting on six vertically upright stones. They form a rectangle measuring 6 x 4 metres, with an opening to the west. The vertical gaps were originally filled with small stones. Initially, the 15-ton table sat high above the ground, but a landslide buried part of the edifice, giving it its distinctive appearance today. The site has been a listed monument since 1889.
