Between the Alps and Provence, discover in the heart of Baronnies a hilltop village grouped around its priory from the 11th century. Between the rivers Buëch, Céans and Blaisance, Lagrand offers an historical panorama of the region.
Located on a hill overlooking the Buëch Valley, Lagrand offers a magnificent panorama. It is a lovely village with its beautiful cobbled streets, arcaded houses and its church Notre-Dame de la Nativité from 12th century (listed as a Historic Monument). Although restored, this one preserves the austere character of the Romanesque art buildings. Concerts are regularly scheduled in this church.
In the adjoining outbuildings, a school of yesteryear has been restored ... it is open during the summer season or during events in the village.
Built in the 13th century on the model of the rich Provencal bastides, the old castle of Hugues houses currently the Town Hall.
For nearly 8 centuries, every year on September 9th takes place the famous turkey fair, one of the oldest in France! This is an opportunity to party in the village around a traditional dish called Aïoli, a hundred exhibitors are gathered: poultry, crafts, regional products, entertainment, baking bread in the oven ...
