The abbey was transformed into a seigniory around the 16th century.
The château was built in the 17th century. The Camboult de Coislin family restored the outbuildings in the 18th century. Partly destroyed during the Vendée War, the Chancerel family bought it in 1811 and restored it, building a farm during the First Empire. In 1913, the Chancerels sold it to the Ecomard family (Joseph), who completely restored it and bought neighbouring land to create a 95-hectare estate in one piece, divided in two by the River Tenu: 47 hectares in Sainte-Pazanne with the Durrasserie and Port-faissant, and 48 hectares in Saint-Mars-de-Coutais with the Vannerie.
The entire estate is privately owned, and tours are not available.
