This hike through the Oxibar pass offers a very interesting originality: it opens the doors to the karstic massif of Arbailles. The geology gives a particular tone to the landscape, which is at the same time secret, original, with a cultural dimension that draws its sources from protohistory. After crossing a small forest, the first open slopes offer a very nice view of the "Ibar Esküin" valley, Alcay, Lacarry and the high massifs of Soulet and Béarn. The nature of the soil already tells us about this type of limestone terrain and we arrive at a beautiful promontory where a few piles of stones are piled up: "Maide Korralea", a witness to the ancient history of Soulet After the Oxibar pass, on the way down, we can admire the old barn with its shingled roof, those old wooden tiles.

Ahüzki, known by its famous fountain, is also a high place of pastoralism in Soule. This very beautiful hike allows you to discover a very original environment with multiple facets. It is the karstic massif of Arbailles, a humanized middle mountain. Everything is there: the natural heritage with surprising geological curiosities, a very rich fauna and flora, but also the close relationship between man and the environment, with the pastures and the numerous herds in summer. The itinerary passes by several cayolars and offers striking views of the Basque mountains.

In the Souletines mountains, in the dark forests and in the heart of the most secret caves, there would be mysterious and discreet beings. Called Laminak, these beings with nocturnal activities and very varied appearances would have been seen near the hot springs of the small village of Camou. To hope to meet them, you will have to ride a bicycle for 16 km on a hilly route with a rich and varied landscape. Herds of sheep and cows line the route punctuated by villages with beautiful stone houses. A walk on the last 400 meters will be essential to hope to see one of these friendly creatures. If, despite everything, they do not disdain to show themselves, you should not hesitate to immerse yourself in the hot spring to fully enjoy this place full of mystery.

At the gateway to Tardets, Zünharre is a beautiful circuit in the shape of an 8, offering a selection of playful descents suggested by local riders. If the first part of the route seems quite docile on the banks of the Saison or in the heart of the first hamlets and villages, discovering the original Chapeau de Gendarme mountain, the rest of the itinerary quickly awakens your physical and technical skills. The climbs aren't very long, but they can be tough, while the descents alternate between good flow between low walls and a few invigorating slab crossings. The last two thirds of the loop are a concentrate of all-mountain biking, a blue circuit that quickly turns magenta on certain sections if the ground is wet! Along the way, views over the valley and the discreet village of Etchebar add to the interest of this local circuit.

From the banks of the River Saison and Tardets?s lively arcaded square, it takes just a couple of hours to embark on a fairly sporty loop to the Erretzü hill, the atharraztars? (Tardets locals?) easily accessible oxygenation ground. More precisely, this mountain bike route takes you all the way around the Erretzü summit. After a gradual rise in temperature on the banks of the Etcheberry stream, most of the trails are single-track, leading you up the mountainside in an anti-clockwise direction, over all the fern-covered moorland slopes. In addition to panoramic views in all directions, the trails offer a number of technical challenges on both the ascent and descent, with a few rocky climbs requiring explosive and flexible pedaling.

Can you imagine a Xiberotar who hasn't climbed La Madeleine? This hill overlooking Tardets, named after the patron saint of its chapel, is one of Soule's not-to-be-missed climbs, so visible is this watchtower from everywhere, and so remarkable is its panorama. So we had to come up with a mountain bike circuit that would challenge the slopes of the Madeleine, for the taste of effort and the pleasure of the eyes. This is an invigorating circuit, necessarily physical as it includes two ascents of the Madeleine, once via the steep asphalt route on the southern slope, the second time via the more reasonable byways of the Roquiague valley and the Col de Saratsaga. One Madeleine climbed, the second offered!

The bastide town of Tardets was founded in 1299. The nearby watercourses create an original triangular square, lined with arcades. Colorful facades are separated by alleyways, and passageways lead down to the river. The houses date from the 17th-19th centuries. Château Daguerre, which housed the town hall and municipal school for several decades, boasts an attractive classical façade. The pediment was erected on the site of the park.
