Take a walk to discover the ponds belonging to the former abbey and, thanks to a diversion, walk through some of the undergrowth of the remarkable Saint-Evroult forest, where the monks have sought solitude for centuries.

At the center of the route is Le Pot-à-Beurre, a nod to the Countess of Ségur who found in the plain of Aube, dominated by the high forests of the Parc des Nouettes, the source of her inspiration.

Departing from Merlerault, this 58-km cycle route will challenge the most athletic. As the kilometres go by, twists and hills punctuate this Orne cycleway.

This old little town, located on a former Roman road in the Risle valley in the Pays d'Ouche, is an ideal place for a walk and a history lesson. Its industrial past made it renowned: ironwork and the production of pins and needles. Its architectural heritage is also significant with two churches, including one that dates back to the 10th century, two chateaus, a washhouse, typical houses, etc. and the recently improved banks of the river Risle which invite visitors for a family walk.

Starting from Falaise to reach Jumièges, this new 265 km itinerary crosses the Auge country to link it to the Seine. It follows the Risle valley and offers you an immersion in the land dotted with stud farms where the horse is king. On this itinerary, you will have the opportunity to wander on paths that will lead you to some of the high tourist places of the territory such as the Castle of Falaise, Orbec and the source of the Orbiquet, Broglie and the valley of the Charentonne, the Abbey of Bec Hellouin, the Forest of Montfort sur Risle, Aizier and its point of view on the Seine but also the Forest of Brotonne and the Abbey of Jumièges. A real bridge between the territories, it will be possible from now on through this network of great equestrian routes to reach the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel from the Seine-Maritime.

The current Château de La Ferté-Fresnel bears witness to a historic and artistic era, portraying all the expertise that was much cherished by Emperor Napoleon III. This place is a showcase for French ‘art-de-vivre’, and you can come and discover the history of the Château des Rêves on a guided tour with audio guide, dramatized tour, tour-show (depending on the season), commented tasting tours with 4 different wines or a safari tour of the estate on our little tourist train. Museum devoted to the energy sources used in small and medium-sized companies between 1800 and 1950, in an authentic factory from 1916. You will discover industrial and farming motors, steam-powered machines that have been restored and then displayed in a setting that resembles the original. During the guided tour, the machines are put into operation. A scale-model room retraces the evolution of water and windmills.

Historical metallurgical activities in the country of Ouche. Ancestor of the steel plant, the Grosse Forge d'Aube produced iron since 1500. From 1850 to 1939, the work of copper adapted, without problems, the equipment before the Revolution. Listed as a Historical Monument, the site presents five centuries of metallurgy. Models trace thousand years of metallurgy. Exhibitions are devoted to this traditional activity and its impact, the foundations of the local industry still very active in this part of the valley of the Risle.

The Museum of the Comtesse de Segur is located near the Nouettes Castle where she lived from 1821 to 1872 and spent the best years of her life, writing about local life. The museum collects documents on this writer, her family, her friends and her work. Apart from the three permanent galleries of the museum, an annual exhibition is devoted to the presentation of a novel of the Comtesse de Segur: the goal is to constantly renew the interest of the museum and to charm visitors by showing them a new work.

A site where nature and cultural heritage are closely linked. From its source, following the Guiel is no easy task. After disappearing from the surface, it reappears in this unspoilt natural setting. The resurgence of the Guiel, located between the Orne and Eure rivers, is a geological phenomenon linked to an entire underground karst system. It is one of the strongest springs in Normandy. Marked trail open all year round (3.4 km) Access to the site car park from the D12 between Monnai and La Ferté-en-Ouche.

A Renaissance Château, built in 1544 on the foundations of a feudal chateau said to belong to Semblançay, a minister to Francois 1. Site of the L'Aigle meteor shower in 1803. The outside of the chateau can be visited all year round. Guided tours of the interior are available on Heritage Days.

Saint-Martin church, where art from the 1930s mingles with gothic art! The building forms an original yet harmonious whole, with elements spanning five distinct eras. Its unique character is owed to its layers of architecture, spanning the 11th to 20th centuries with each age leaving its mark. The church is currently exhibiting a unique collection of inter-war art (stained glass and statues).
