This hike is the second stage of an 8-day, 220-km circuit, the Tour des Collines du Perche. During this second stage, you will gradually leave the Vallée de l’Huisne and enter the forest area with its foothills, coming out at Bretoncelles before going back in and then reaching the village of Moutiers-au-Perche, which is nestled in the Vallée de la Corbionne.

La Moussetière Pepperpot Turrets A journey back in time among the forest and bocages. You will admire the manor houses, including those in La Moussetière, with round pepperpot turrets, and discover some of the curiosities of the Remalard area.

This walk goes through the Woods of Saint Christophe where there often are horse riders. You will walk on the former royal ditches, medieval remains of the border between France and Normandy. This walk combines beautiful landscapes with plains and forests as well as heritage sites such as the pretty little church in Saint-Christophe-sur-Avre.

Bellême Forest extends over the gentle Perche hills. Covered with majestic oak trees, a piece of ancient Gaul still lives on here.

A green escapade along the water A nature trail to explore the Natura 2000 site of the Haute-Vallée de la Sarthe, one of the most important wetlands in the department. You will cross meadows rich in biodiversity and can finish the route with a moment of relaxation at the Le Mêle lake.

Spotting rare flowers such as the early spider orchid, breathing in the fragrance of Breckland Thyme, getting up close to praying mantises and listening to crickets are all part of daily life in the Coteau de la Bandonnière. Located in Longny-au-Perche, it stretches across a steep hillside of the Vallée de la Robioche. Its sunny, sloping aspect has encouraged unusual flora and fauna, usually only seen further south. Welcome to "Le Pressoir", an authentic longère dating back to 1816, set in wooded grounds 15 minutes from Mortagne-au-Perche. At the end of the tree-lined drive, in the middle of the paved courtyard, ideal for lunches in the sun, you'll find "La Longère". This is the main house, with a large kitchen, dining room and living room with fireplace (yes, it works!) as living areas. Also on the first floor, a large bedroom, a shower room and an office. Upstairs, 5 further large bedrooms, a shower room and a bathroom. Happy are those who get bedroom "5", with its tiled floor and exposed beams.
