LE LYS DES CHAMPS

Fancy a cocooning break in Sainte-Suzanne, one of France's most beautiful villages? "Le Lys des Champs, a charming gîte, welcomes you for a cosy break away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Take your time, discover, dream; that's what you're invited to do for a stay in the heart of unspoilt nature. 2h40 from Paris, between Laval and Le Mans, a unique experience awaits you in this small fortified medieval town, a stronghold dating back to the 11th century and a must-see tourist destination, situated on the road to Brittany and not far from Normandy. You'll fall under the spell of this small village and its inhabitants. Take your time to explore the town and its picturesque streets, discover its castle and keep, the "chemin de la poterne" and its breathtaking views, and the charming hamlet of La Rivière and its old water mills. Your gîte, "Le Lys des champs", is a building that has retained all its authentic character. Built of exposed stone, typical of the region, this house used to be the home of the "charron" (a specialist in wood and metal, who made various tanks, vehicles, wheels, etc.). Completely renovated, the house has retained its small bread oven (no longer in use), and the wheelwright's workshop (not accessible) is still in the garden. Carefully decorated and furnished in a chic country style, "Le Lys des Champs" welcomes you for a warm, family holiday. Everything is designed for your comfort: for a cosy autumn/winter by the fire, or a lazy spring/summer on the terrace. On entering, you'll discover a bright living room of over 40 m2 with a pleasant, open-plan, fully-equipped kitchen. There's also a small internet corner or coffee break, as you prefer. The lounge area features a comfortable convertible sofa, armchair and wood-burning stove. A small room with WC, washbasin and utility room completes the ground floor. Upstairs, the "shabby chic" landing welcomes you with its small desk, library area and "girly" bench seat. It leads to 2 bedrooms, one with a 160x200 double bed and the other able to accommodate 2 people either in a 160x200 double bed or in 2 80x200 beds, to be decided before your arrival. These 3 very bright rooms have a view of the Erve valley in the distance. A lovely, cosy shower room with a window completes the first floor (toilet, washbasin, shower).
