Le Puy, Rocamadour, Gourdon: the Way of Compostela enters Lot-et-Garonne at Montayral, in the Lot valley. As far as Penne d'Agenais, the landscape of the Haut-Agenais opens up on panoramas and reveals the richness of its heritage, such as the bastide of Tournon d'Agenais.

This circuit takes you to the borders of the Lot-et-Garonne and the Lot, stony paths, dry stone walls, pigeon lofts, manor houses, houses of character and numerous viewpoints.

Stony and shady paths, pigeon lofts and viewpoints in the first part, the Verdus woods, a nice view of the Bastide of Tournon and the Tsar's cellar just before finishing this trip.

This small and very easy circuit takes some of the paths of the GR 652, the way to Santiago de Compostela, via Le Puy-en-Velay. It will delight families through the vineyards of the Tsar's wines and the typical wooded areas of the Quercy hillsides.

This very easy walk starts from the car park of the winery, crosses vineyards and enters the soothing shadows of the Verdus forest.

As a link between Quercy and Agenais, the Lot changes at Montayral. Twisted in the causses, it widens its meanders here. On the circuit, the contrast is striking between the limestone plateau planted with fir trees and the oaks of the plain.

The paths, often lined with dry stone walls, guide this easy hike, benefiting from the shade of the oak trees of the Verdus forest.

This circuit first crosses a vineyard, then passes along a lake before going into the forest of Verdus on winding and stony paths. The village of Masquières, close to the department of Lot, occupies a large part of this forest. In the valleys of Lartel and Las Gonies, archaeological discoveries testify to the prehistoric occupation of the place. Nearby, dug into a hill, the cobbler's cave sheltered Neolithic burials. In the forest are the remains of a covered alley called the "Tomb of the Giants" (prehistoric megalith). The church of Saint-Vincent, built in 1240, is the former chapel of a priory attached to the abbey of Moissac

Plum tree orchards and vineyards alternate with wooded hills and arid pechs of the Quercy gates along this circuit. You can also discover the Lagrolère astronomical observatory. The association which occupies it, Gap-Est 47 exists since more than 20 years. At the beginning, the club met in premises lent by the town hall of Montayral to build its observation equipment. As the group of volunteers with a passion for astronomy continued to grow, they decided to create activities to introduce groups of individuals and schools to their passion. Little by little the association acquired observation instruments and then the observatory was built in the commune of Montayral with the support of the community of communes of Fumélois-Lémance and the Conseil Général.

Once upon a time, in the beginning of last century, a little land in the Causse, which produced a quality wine, the Thézac-Perricard. Its aroma as subtle as spiced, charmed some of the greatest men: Napoléon the 3rd, Armand Fallières (a former President of the Republic) or the Czar Nicolas the 2nd, who loved it so much that he gave it his name. Today, some great food critics still think this wine is "pleasant and appealing". The wine-grower produces it and sells it, red or rosé.

On the borders of Agenais and Quercy, 42 km from Agen and 45 km from Cahors, Tournon-d'Agenais, a fortified town labeled among the Most Beautiful Villages in France, is perched on a pech, a hill with steep sides in the Pays de Serres, between Lot and Garonne. From a castle site attested at the beginning of the 13th century, a fortified town developed with its tall rampart houses, its orderly streets and its square of the corners. From the public garden, an orientation table allows you to enjoy the panorama of the Boudouyssou valley. Tournon-d'Agenais highlights the old house of the Bishops of Agen called the Abescat, its 17th century belfry whose bell tower houses a lunar clock to follow the phases of the night star.
