An abandoned and dilapidated goshawk, which the knowledgeable handymen of the City Council have rehabilitated. This one culminates on a hillock, the fifth explanatory site described during the walk. Signs briefly tell the life of the Landes forest. The one of the ditches evokes swamps, the road to Compostela, shepherds, sanitation... The cork oaks are an excuse to learn about their economic role in Vieux-Boucau. Further on, the walker learns about the gluttony of the maritime pine swallowing its 45 tons per day for a wooded hectare. The fourth stop, in a clearing, reminds us of the damage caused by Klaus. The smallest and least accessible of the 5 lakes of the commune, separated from Lac Blanc only by a bridge, it is a real reserve au naturel. However, some of it can be avoided by walk and enjoy superb views of the wildlife and wild flora.

L'Étang Blanc straddles Seignosse, Tosse and Soustons. It is intermittently accessible and offers magnificent light all year round. You won't be able to walk around it, as the marshy meadows that border it are protected and inaccessible. The numerous stilt huts are used as duck-hunting blinds.

"Wild Coast"! The name of the site holds the promise of a change of scenery and isolation. Facing the Atlantic Ocean, the 34 hectares of the Conservatoire's property in the commune of Soorts-Hossegor, form a well-preserved dune barrier of sufficient height and width to hide from beach users the residential areas hidden under the forest fringe. Between the ocean beach to the west and the Boulevard du Front de Mer which runs along the back dune to the east, the site is 95% composed of non-forested dunes. The natural forest edge is almost absent, only a few relics are present in the central zone, but are quite degraded. The dune is gently sloping on the beach side and steeper to the east. It is covered with sparse vegetation. It is a beautiful example of a dune of the south Landes coastline, which is rare and not very prone to erosion.

Protecting 52 ha of wetlands, the Nature Reserve is the home of characteristic wildlife habitats in Les Landes. A wooden plank footpath leads you to the lake through a swamp forest, bog, stream... L'Etang Noir which gives its name to the nature reserve stands out by its deep waters and mudflats.
